Faeryville
Tzang Merwyn Tong I Singapore I 93min I Sci-Fi, Post-Apocalyptic (Philippine Premiere) 2014
Faeryville tells the story of a band of college misfits who decide to fight the bullies, escalating from youthful idealism to all-out anarchy. Faeryville is Singapore's first dystopian youth film.
Hailed as Singapore’s most independent 'independent' filmmaker, Tzang Merwyn Tong is best known for his thought provoking films often set in surreal alternate realities and made under tight constraints. His films have been screened in Rotterdam, Berlin, Montreal, Lund, Hong Kong, Tel Aviv and Romania and has won acclaim for its socially relevant themes. He is also the founder of Zen-Mind Filmmaking, a film movement and thought experiment on how films can be made in a minimalistic, more in-the-present-moment way using the principles of Zen philosophy.
